It’s been an amazing and exciting week at Stages Hair Design, with three of our Bristol hair stylists delivering top-quality hairdressing for beauty queens at this year’s prestigious Miss England 2015 competition.

This year’s Miss England competition, which took place on Friday 14th August at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry was an incredible event, and having our hairdressers there to provide expert hairdressing for two wonderful clients and beauty queens was a huge bonus.

It’s been a great start to 2015 for all of our expert Bristol hairdressers at Stages Hair Design – which included announcing the winners of our Christmas Raffle.

There’s been some fantastic news for the teams of expert Bristol hairdressers recently at Stages Hair Design, with the nomination and acceptance of our Bristol hair salons as new members of esteemed industry organisation, the Fellowship for British Hairdressing.

To become a member of the Fellowship, a hair salon must be nominated by 2 others and then get voted in by the executive body at the Fellowship itself.

This means that it’s not a payment-based hairdressing body, but a merit and professional skills-based organisation. Basically, the best of the best only!

Furthermore, the Fellowship offers an excellent training programme, which our hair stylists will be able to attend and boost their hairdressing skills even further in 2015.

This training programme also includes salon management, and bringing junior stylists up to speed with the basics of hair styling, hair colouring and hair extension application.

One of the most exciting Fellowship training initiatives for 2015 will be the new Step Up And Shine, and we’re really looking forward to getting our talented and passionate hair stylists involved.

Membership of the Fellowship also means recognition of a certain level of competence in hairdressing, so everyone at SHD is beaming this week!

The team at Stages Hair Design, has been reviewing the Miss Bristol 2014 event we recently organise and which saw Naomi Dunbar being crowned.

It was a fabulous evening, with more than 160 people attending the plush event at the Winchester Suite in Bristol’s Grand Hotel.

There were 18 finalists and standards were particularly high – the top five girls were only separated by 8 marks, and the evening saw three re-counts from the judging panel!

Naomi Dunbar, a 19-year-old estate agent from Wotton-Under-Edge was crowned as Miss Bristol 2014, whilst Natalie Franklin from Portishead won the Miss Popularity award by a single vote.

The evening was enhanced by a series of themed hair shows, created with fantastic work from top hairdressers in Bristol, with outstanding quality.

The charity raffle for Gloucester Cricket Club also raised £650, and we’d like to thank the Museum & Learning Centre for their hard work.

The Stages Hair Design team of stylists thoroughly enjoyed it, and we’d like to say a huge thank you to those who attended, competed, and helped to make it such a memorable Miss Bristol event. Here’s to many more!

At Stages Hair Design, we make a point of attending the annual hairdressing extravaganza that is the Alternative Hair Show. And this year’s evening Show at the Royal Albert Hall was no exception.

AHS

Attended by more than 2,000 people, this year’s Alternative Hair Show focused more on sharp haircuts and less on theatrical sideshows – and the result was a spectacular evening of incredible hairdressing on display.

One of the best elements of the Alternative Hair Show is the charitable driving force for the event – this year’s show raised more than £187K to the Alternative Hair Charitable Foundation.

You can find out more about this year’s Alternative Hair Show here.

At our Bristol hair salons, we offer alternative and retro haircuts – take a closer look at our stunning Gallery here.

At Stages Hair Design, we’re celebrating a massive commercial landmark – 25 years of hairdressing in Bristol.

And the party started, of course, with a night out for our amazing creative stylists at Zizzi’s in Clifton.

Our hairdressing teams from both Bristol hair salons enjoyed a fantastic evening of fine dining, and Creative Directors Richard and Simon will be treating our hairdressers to a three-day break in Benidorm from the 04th to 06th November. Both hair salons will be closed during these dates inclusive.

Stages Hair Design opened its first hair salon in Patchway, then our second salon in Westbury six years later.

Many loyal clients have stayed with us for the whole 25 years, when Creative Director brought a number of new clients into the first hair salon.

The combination of Richard’s artistic approach to hairdressing and Simon’s business acumen has helped to secure the continued growth and success of both hair salons, and we’re thrilled to have reached 25 years in business.

Stages Hair Design have a national and international reputation for delivering outstanding hair extension services from our hair salons in Bristol – including Richard being asked to lecture on the subject in America.

Furthermore, Richard and Simon are the designated expert providers of hair extension services across the South West region for Great Lengths, too.

There’s a great article here about the benefits and growth in popularity of hair extensions for women. The trend is increasing, as celebrities continue to sport superb, beautiful and gorgeous hair extensions in public.

The art of hair extensions has always been vital for the fashion industry, and Richard and Simon have been involved in providing professional hair extension services for stage shows, theatre productions, and catwalk launches across Bristol, the wider UK and abroad for decades. We’ve seen it all!

Whilst some critics of hair extensions claim hair extensions are more trouble than they’re worth, we believe that using expert hair extension hair stylists to craft stunning hair extensions can transform any woman.

And not just transformations for stage shows and catwalk events, either – but for women looking to create an incredible new look for their hair, too.

We love the versatility and stylishness of well-created hair extensions, and our passion for this hairdressing skill is clear to see when our hair extension clients walk out of our hair salons in Bristol.

Nothing beats pure passion for hairdressing excellence, and it can’t be faked.

There’s some really useful information here from Great Lengths, which we strongly recommend for those considering hair extensions in Bristol.
