Richard, Simon and Petra from at Stages Hair Design recently left the Patchway and Stoke Bishop hair salons in Bristol, and headed for central London to lend a hand with a leading London fashion designer in providing hairstyling for a top event.

Stages Hair Design Bristol hairdressers working at London Fashion Week

Our leading hairdressers were called in to provide hairstyling services for leading fashion designer Karen Karmody for the amazing Body Queens Show, which ran at a private fashion party during the London Fashion Week.

Karen Karmody makes and provides gorgeous headdress wear for our annual Miss Bristol event, and it’s always a pleasure to work with Karen and her team on any fashion shows. This year’s Body Queens event was no exception.

It’s been a great start to 2015 for all of our expert Bristol hairdressers at Stages Hair Design – which included announcing the winners of our Christmas Raffle.

Our lucky winners were chosen from a hat by neighbouring beauty salon Lucia’s Beauticians and there were eight prizes for our clients in total.

The first winner was client Pat Benson, pictured with chocolates:

We’re all feeling incredibly inspired at Stages Hair Design, having got back from another incredible Salon International event.

Bristol hairdressers at Salon International 2014

Held at the Excel exhibition centre in London every year, Salon International highlights what’s hot and trending in hairdressing for the year to come.

Salon International is great for taking a closer look at fashion, new ideas, brand new hair products, hairdressing education, and what’s happening with industry rules and regulations through companies such as Habia.

We also use the event to catch up with friends from the hairdressing industry from across the country, and get to chat about how things are developing for the hair & beauty sector overall with our peers and pals.

One of the highlights of this year’s Salon International was catching up with a long-time friend called Ross Miller, who will be getting our expert hairdressers involved with teaching various hairdressing seminars – such as hair extensions – in various locations across the UK in 2015.

We’re really pleased and proud at Stages Hair Design, to this week announce the appointment of a new Senior Stylist at our Westbury hair salon in Bristol.

Helen Dowdell (below) joins us with more than two decades’ hairdressing experience in Bristol, with a particular specialisation in hair colouring.

Helen has been a part of the Stages Hair Design teams of expert hairdresser teams, when she worked at our Westbury hair salon over a decade ago. She was one of our stylists for five years, and it’s wonderful to have her back!

Helen’s passionate about educating clients on the right hair products to use, the best types of hair colouring techniques for individual hair types, and how to deliver the very best hair colouring services in the city.

Welcome back Helen – and do feel free to pop into our Westbury hair salon to book a hair colouring appointment with our latest Senior Stylist this month.

At Stages Hair Design, we’re celebrating this week, after being asked by the management team at Miss England to help in the hunt for Miss Bristol for the 2014 competition.

We were previously involved in the Miss Bristol 2010, and were hair stylists for the winner at the time, Amy Willerton, of recent ‘I’m a celebrity, Get me out of here’ fame.

The Miss Bristol 2014 competition will also include a regional hair show involving Bristol hair salons, and the main event will be held at the stunning ballroom of the Grand Hotel on Sunday 23rd March, 2014, where the current Miss England will be amongst the judging panel for this prestigious event.

We’re delighted to be once again involved with Miss Bristol, and thoroughly enjoyed the 2010 competition – especially delivering show-stopping hairstyling for Amy and other models.

The 2014 competition is also being supported by the GCCC Museum & Learning Centre charity.

If you’re aged 17-24 and live in a BS postcode, you could be in the running to be the next Miss Bristol! Simply visit here to find out more details.

At Stages Hair Design, we make a point of attending the annual hairdressing extravaganza that is the Alternative Hair Show. And this year’s evening Show at the Royal Albert Hall was no exception.

Attended by more than 2,000 people, this year’s Alternative Hair Show focused more on sharp haircuts and less on theatrical sideshows – and the result was a spectacular evening of incredible hairdressing on display.

One of the best elements of the Alternative Hair Show is the charitable driving force for the event – this year’s show raised more than £187K to the Alternative Hair Charitable Foundation.

You can find out more about this year’s Alternative Hair Show here.

At our Bristol hair salons, we offer alternative and retro haircuts – take a closer look at our stunning Gallery here.

At Stages Hair Design, we’re celebrating a massive commercial landmark – 25 years of hairdressing in Bristol.

And the party started, of course, with a night out for our amazing creative stylists at Zizzi’s in Clifton.

Our hairdressing teams from both Bristol hair salons enjoyed a fantastic evening of fine dining, and Creative Directors Richard and Simon will be treating our hairdressers to a three-day break in Benidorm from the 04th to 06th November. Both hair salons will be closed during these dates inclusive.

Stages Hair Design opened its first hair salon in Patchway, then our second salon in Westbury six years later.

Many loyal clients have stayed with us for the whole 25 years, when Creative Director brought a number of new clients into the first hair salon.

The combination of Richard’s artistic approach to hairdressing and Simon’s business acumen has helped to secure the continued growth and success of both hair salons, and we’re thrilled to have reached 25 years in business.
