The team of beauty queen hairstylists at our Stoke Bishop and Patchway hair salons are still recovering after an amazing Miss Bristol 2017 competition.
After selling out for the Miss Bristol event on Sunday 09th April at The Mercure Grand hotel in central Bristol, our Creative Directors helped to host more than 180 guests for the annual beauty queen contest.
Contestants took part in various rounds, including Evening Wear, Little Black Dress and Eco Dress. The overall theme of the evening was West End Shows, with fantastic hairstylists from regional hair salons creating looks.
Studio One from Gloucester created looks to mirror The Lion King, whilst Cohesion from Bristol opted to create looks from Phantom of the Opera, and our very own fashion hairstylists in Bristol at Stages Hair Design went for the pink ladies from Grease. These avant garde hairdressing examples were well received on the night.
With competition hotter than ever this year, there were 14 girls going for the Miss Bristol crown, and the lucky winner was 20-year-old Gina Underhill, a Bristolian who lives and works in the city.
Gina also won the Eco Dress round as seen above, with an incredible creation devised and delivered from putting together drink straws, to incredible effect. The Miss Bristol competition is one of the few in the UK retaining the Eco Dress round.
Gina will now be competing in the Miss England 2017 contest on 12-14th July in Birmingham, and we’re wishing her the very best of luck.
